History

Founded 2008
Burlington, Vermont

It started with one kitchen and not enough clamps.

  1. 2008

William Trask and Anneliese Brandt rent half of a machine shop at 88 Pine Street. First job: a kitchen for Anneliese’s parents, built on borrowed clamps.

  2. 2011

Tomasz Wieczorek joins as joinery lead. The first hide-glue pot goes on the stove.

  3. 2013

The shop takes over the second half of the building. Colm Doyle builds the milling room.

  4. 2016

Ruth Delacroix starts at the front counter and ends up running the schedule. The showroom opens in the front 600 square feet.

  5. 2019

The finish room, ventilated and water-based, replaces a spray booth in the back corner. Dado, the first shop dog, arrives.

  6. 2022

Staircase work becomes a regular line after a Burlington Victorian job. Biscuit arrives.

  7. 2026

340 kitchens and built-ins since 2008. Still eight in the shop and two installers.

A partial list.
The full one is on the

William’s first plane, bought for eleven dollars
  • Hide-glue pot
Electric, but kept warm on the stove in January

Four, all different pitches, all sharpened by Tomasz
